ultra USE In the treatment of facial lines; eg, frown lines, nasolabial lines, and perioral lines, scars & facial rejuvenation. ACTION Viscoelastic polyacrylamide gel that acts as a framework for the deposition of collagen, elastin, glycosaminoglycans and fibronectin, and provides a semi-permanent filler which will last for up to 2 years. The gel is slowly broken down by the body's enzymes and removed completely by the liver. As the gel stabilizes in the skin there is a reduction of approximately 30% of the volume. This reduces the risk of over-correction. A second treatment may be required at about 4 weeks. Outline original - deep lines, nasolabial lines, forehead lines, chin lines Outline fine line - thin superficial lines; around eyes and mouth, forehead lines, smile lines. Outline ultra - deep folds CONTRAINDICATIONS Pregnancy & Breast feeding Active skin disorder on the face Current infection Extreme allergic states Severe illness Auto-immune disorders Active cold sores. PROCEDURE Performed in the clinic. Well tolerated but local anaesthetic cream or injection can be used to reduce the pain of the injections, especially in lips. POST-TREATMENT Keep area clean and dry for 24 hours. Do not touch, rub or massage area. Keep pets away from face for first day. Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds for 24 hours. No alcohol for 24 hours EFFECTS Pain Mild burning sensation with injection. Redness mild , usually resolves in 1 -2 days Bruising Minimal bruising may occur. Swelling Mild swelling of the treated area for approximately 1-2 weeks. Itching Mild Infection Very rare Discolouration Mild may last 1 - 2 days Allergic reactions Very rare |
