| Restylane/Perlane USE In the treatment of facial lines; eg, frown lines, nasolabial lines, perioral lines, chin lines, lip augmentation, scars & facial rejuvenation. ACTION Uses Hyaluronic acid, a natural component of your skin. This Non-Animal, Stabilized, Hyaluronic Acid, binds water in your skin, to lift and restore skin's natural elasticity and volume. No skin test is required. No animal ingredients. Restylane - wrinkle correction, lip enhancement Restylane fine line - thin superficial lines; around eyes and mouth, forehead lines, smile lines. Perlane - shaping facial contours; cheeks, chin. Deep folds and Volume augmentation in lips. BEFORE TREATMENT Important to examine the overall care of your skin. Avoid sun exposure Stop SMOKING Improve your diet; Water, fresh fruit, vegetables. Regular skin care. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen for 2 weeks before treatment. If you are due to have any major surgery esp. bowel or pelvic surgery you should NOT have treatment with a filler. History of colds sores will require treatment with an ant-viral. CONTRAINDICATIONS Pregnancy & Breast feeding Active skin disorder on the face Current infection Extreme allergic states Severe illness Auto-immune disorders Active cold sores. PROCEDURE Performed in the clinic. Well tolerated but local anaesthetic cream or injection can be used to reduce the pain of the injections, especially in lips. The results will last from 4 -6 months depending on age, skin type, and activity. POST-TREATMENT Keep area clean and dry for 24 hours. Do not touch, rub or massage area. Keep pets away from face for first day. Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds for 24 hours. No alcohol for 24 hours EFFECTS Pain Mild burning sensation with injection. Redness mild , usually resolves in 1 -2 hours Bruising Minimal bruising may occur. Swelling Mild swelling of the treated area for approximately 1-2 weeks.
